GetCapabilities

Our version of MapServer supports multiple versions of the WCS standard:

Version 2.0.0: /cgi-bin/BGS_RS/ows?service=WCS&version=2.0.0&request=GetCapabilities&
Version 1.1.2: /cgi-bin/BGS_RS/ows?service=WCS&request=GetCapabilities&version=1.1.2&
Version 1.1.1: /cgi-bin/BGS_RS/ows?service=WCS&request=GetCapabilities&version=1.1.1&
Version 1.1.0: /cgi-bin/BGS_RS/ows?service=WCS&request=GetCapabilities&version=1.1.0&
Version 1.0.0: /cgi-bin/BGS_RS/ows?service=WCS&request=GetCapabilities&version=1.0.0&

DescribeCoverage

Returns the same information as a GetCoverage Operation with the exception of the rangeset (the data). The MapServer service at the moment only exposes the 'bgs_rs' coverage

/cgi-bin/BGS_RS/ows?service=WCS&version=2.0.0&request=DescribeCoverage&CoverageId=bgs_rs&

GetCoverage

MapServer requires a format parameter. Formats restricted to images (tiff and png both work). Request for the full image MAY time out

/cgi-bin/BGS_RS/ows?service=WCS&version=2.0.0&request=GetCoverage&CoverageId=bgs_rs&format=image/tiff& /cgi-bin/BGS_RS/ows?service=WCS&version=2.0.0&request=GetCoverage&CoverageId=bgs_rs&format=image/png&

Trim operation

Example of applying a trim subset operation to return a piece of the coverage, subsetting on the y-axis between low (2791) and high (5581)

/cgi-bin/BGS_RS/ows?service=WCS&version=2.0.0&request=GetCoverage&CoverageId=bgs_rs&format=image/png&subset=y(2791,5581)&

Trimming on two axes

As PNG (resultant image is 3044 x 2791 pixels @ 24 bits per pixel ~ 16.9 MB):

/cgi-bin/BGS_RS/ows?service=WCS&Request=GetCoverage&version=2.0.0&CoverageId=bgs_rs&format=image/png&subset=y(2791,5581)&subset=x(3043,6086)&

As TIFF

/cgi-bin/BGS_RS/ows?service=WCS&Request=GetCoverage&version=2.0.0&CoverageId=bgs_rs&format=image/tiff&subset=y(2791,5581)&subset=x(3043,6086)&

To return a single pixel PNG specify the same x and same y (for the min and max value of the subset operation):

/cgi-bin/BGS_RS/ows?service=WCS&Request=GetCoverage&version=2.0.0&CoverageId=bgs_rs&format=image/png&subset=y(3050,3050)&subset=x(3533,3533)&
